Jack For Sale

13hh saddle broke donkey stud to breed mares.

Arthur was rescued from Camelot Auction in NJ. in Sept. 2010. I was told he has been used to breed draft mares. I plan to breed him in June 2011 to and App. mare. He is 13hh, saddle broke but needs some work. Green, not dirty. good to work with, farrier vet etc. Actually he is very good natured and enjoys attention. He is approximately 10 years old. I feed him hay, oats and a little grass grazing, he is an easy keeper but would be worried if he got to much rich green grass as he is a donkey. I would like to find a home were he would be used. due to his age I am told gelding won't change him too much and should be cautious with mares or geldings. If you would like to help this guy out by providing a permanent home please contact. Price may be adjusted to right home. UTD on vet, farrier and de-wormings.

MAMMOTH JACK - Windy Ridge Redman’s Cinnabar - foaled July 5, 2007. Red Roan Mammoth CDMA /ADR Reg. pending .

Windy Ridge Redman's Cinnabar, CDMA Reg. # CDJA-4843. ADR registration pending.

Foaled:
July 5, 2007. Born a red Roan Mammoth, Cinnabar developed a rich dark red roan coat in 2008. As a yearling Cinnabar stood 50" tall, with 6 3/4" cannon bone measurement. At 19 months he stood 53 1/4" tall, with 7" cannon bone measurement.

This long yearling has a rich dark red roan coat and a unique white star on his forehead at birth.

At 19 months of age, Cinnabar stood 53 1/4" tall and like most Mammoths should grow until 5 to 7 years of age. With good care and feeding we anticipate he will reach Mammoth height. Our young Mammoths usually stand 50" to 52" tall at one year old.

Cinnabar shows excellent conformation on long straight legs with superb bone, that already produce smooth flowing gaits gaits and super speed ! He leads, stands tied, loads, is easy to catch and halter, and good with his hooves at trimming time and has done some time standing on a high line.

In five generations of Cinnabar's pedigree, US National Halter and Performance jacks appear 12 times, as well as 1981 US National Produce of Dam winner, Dry Gulch Sweet Nuthin' ! We believe that with his bloodlines, this young jack not only has superior performance potential, but with the careful and compassionate training, could become a great future saddle mule sire, like his sire and his grand sire the famous Rich's Redman.

Cinnabar shows an elegant head with straight profile, and an excellent mouth. His disposition is friendly, very active and curious like most youngsters. He was imprinted at birth and continues to do well in halter lessons after having been weaned in November 2007. He is currently being bitted with a mullen mouth half cheek snaffle which he wears almost every morning while eating his grain(learning to carry the bit), and when doing halter lessons.

Cinnabar is a vigorous young jack, full of energy and looking forward to becoming the breeding jack he is meant to be. He has been kept away from jennets since weaning, and is ready to go with a horse buddy of similar age in preparation for life as a mule jack. If you are looking for a quality jack of excellent pedigree to become a future saddle mule jack, then please contact us as soon as possible for we no longer have facilities for more than one jack.

Windy Ridge Allspice                C-CDJE-422

Large Standard Donkey Jennet (Mare) - Foaled July 10, 1987, Dark Brown, C-CDJE-422. 53.1/2 inches tall.

CDMA inspected jennet of 75% Mammoth blood. When bred to a Mammoth jack her foals have all reached Mammoth height. One daughter can be seen in our herd and several of her offspring have been exported to USA. Spicey's athletic ability comes through both her grandsires - Black Bart (56'') on the top side and Windy Ridge Ajax (almost 12hh) on the bottom. Both of these jacks loved to trot and to drive - it was their passion!

Windy Ridge Victoria CDJE-4097

Red Roan Mammoth Jennet foaled June 22, 2001. C-CDJE-4097

Victoria is the first red roan offspring from Windy Ridge Elizabeth, and 40% of her ancestors are the rare red roan colour also. Victoria stood 57 3/4'' tall (14.1 3/4hh) with a 7 1/4'' cannon bone measurement at 44 months of age, and will likely mature a little taller yet over the next year.  We estimate she will probably mature in the 58-59'' range. She has filled out well this spring, but comes from a very slow growing line of Mammoths, so still has lots of growing left to do! She is easy to catch, lead, trim and load in the trailer.  Victoria has a quiet unassuming nature and can be a bit timid of new things but has entered phase two of her education and done well. Phase two, which started  spring 2005,  introduced her to  pack saddle, high line, English riding saddle, being  bitted with a straight bar snaffle, and walking obstacle courses (tarps, poles , water, chalk lines etc.). Once this phase of education is complete she will likely be introduced to a work harness and skid some firewood before being laid off for the summer. Victoria is ready to go to a new home and start light work.

Windy Ridge Penelope

Black Mammoth Jennet foaled May 17, 2002. CDMA Reg. pending.

Penelope is a personable youngster who currently stands 53 1/2'' with a 6 1/2'' cannon bone measurement and has three more years to grow ! She has an elegant head, good mouth, and good overall conformation except for the slight toe out in front. However, she exhibits no interference at any gait. She will likely mature in the 54 1/2 - 551/2'' size range. Her three siblings have matured 55 - 58'' tall, and they ride, drive and pack and one works as a big guard donkey. Penelope should mature to a large saddle type donkey with good potential for riding or driving.

Windy Ridge Magnolia       CDJE-3314

Black Large Standard Jennet foaled May 21, 2000. C-CDJE-3314

Friendly little Magnolia is currently the only daughter of the late Black Bart (many times US National Halter and Performance Champion) offered for sale. Her height has remained at 51 1/2'' so at four years old she is unlikely to make the required 54'' minimum for height for Mammoth jennets. She will therefore be registered Large Standard. She would be old enough to breed in 2005, and if bred to a saddle type Mammoth jack could throw some taller foals for saddle or driving. She exhibits the free moving trot of her sire, plus leads, loads, ties, and is good with the farrier etc.

Windy Ridge Marguerita          C-CDJE-1174

Large Standard Donkey Jennet (Mare) - Foaled June 25, 1991, Black, C-CDJE-1174. 52.1/4 inches tall.

CDMA inspected jennet of 100% Mammoth blood but who only matured 52 1/4''. She has good conformation, substance and gaits. Marguerita passed CDMA inspection with 79% ( the passing grade is 65%). She is an easy keeper, proven brood jennet and excellent mother. With her kind disposition, she is good to work around in the stable plus catch, lead and load. She has be ridden lightly and has good potential as a walk/trot trail donkey. She cycles regularly and bred Mammoth she could put some excellent big donkeys on the ground.
